
Able to work independently, with a minimum or no supervision from the engineer.Able to manipulate multiple reference/model files to prepare specific discipline plan drawing and section/details.Understands reference/model file concept for preparation of facility construction drawing package.This worker may occasionally interpret general designs prepared by others to complete minor details, may provide advice and guidance to lower level drafters or serve as coordinator and planner for large and complex drafting projects.Manager, Lead or design originator may suggest methods of approach or provide advice on unusually difficult problems.This operator selects required information from computer programs, manufacturers' catalogs and technical guides.The operator works from sketches, computer models and verbal information supplied by an architect, engineer or designer to determine the most appropriate views, detail drawings, and supplementary information needed to complete assignments.This operator works closely with design originators, preparing drawings or computer models of complex, or original designs that include multiple view, and detail drawings, require considerable drafting skill to visualize and portray.

An average staff of 400-500 with a peak staff over 650 supports this contract, in addition to those subcontractors who perform construction work. Work is performed across the nation in each of the FAA’s nine regions as well as the Aeronautical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and the Technical Center in Atlantic City, New Jersey and in several U.S. The statement of work includes a variety of activities that support the FAA’s Capital Investment Plan (CIP) modernization efforts: Site selection and engineering, construction, environmental and fire/life safety, equipment installation and testing, CAD, and other technical services as required.
